but to have a day, any day, when on that day every one would put down the tools and focus on the source,

it just seemed interesting to me

Yes, it was very nice. It was not the same as when I usually meditate alone - you could feel a new kind of connection.

For those who think that meditating is meaningless - you're right, because that's what you believe. If you believed mediation was helpful, you would be right too. If you don't understand what I've just said... meditate on it.

World peace is brought about thru actions, not wishful thinking. Those who would meditate for peace, are the least likely to be engaging in violence in the first place. In other words, this was just a feel-good exercise of preaching to the choir.

Actions, not sentiments, change the world.

Noon is specific to each (imaginary) longitude. Is it really meaningful to talk about a joint , global meditation unless all time is referred to GMT or some such reference?

Relativistically, even then simultaneity is questionable.

Let each do one's bit whenever, wherever.

well... since one is one with the meditation state, there is no one to be not part of the meditation. :) the meditation day is every day, every second. now, here ;)
