Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this...like if there's an easy way to fix it. The CD drive on our computer just stopped working randomly...nothing was spilled on it, it hasn't been damaged, but it won't read or do anything else with a CD we put in it. The green light blinks rapidly but nothing happens. Any ideas would be appreciated. We don't want to pay to get it repaired if it's something simple.

Your laser is either worn out, damaged or simply covered with dust.
As they are so cheap, you just get a new DVD-rewriter for less than $30 and change it yourself, its not that difficult, with it you can now read and write both DVD/CD
