FYI I do not intend to do this. Wondering what to do if I were to receive such a thing.

Happens all the time (email and post mail). Both must be sent so as to keep 'youth' from seeing it and provide for a way to remove your name from the mailing list. But in general it is part of the freedom of speech right.

There are some major exceptions.

Underage photos: Zip.. nada.. nothing. It is against the law to even POSSESS what is generally called 'kiddie porn'. This is a FEDERAL law and is one of the few that almost everyone agrees with.

Photos which are private and invade the privacy of others. For example if you take photos of your neighbors in their bedroom and then mail them to a publisher.. That will get you sued by the neighbors.

If you receive it and you do not want it.. the best thing is to throw it away or delete it. With email it is best NOT to choose the opt out since that tells the spammers that they have a valid email address from the millions they tried at random. With postal mail, try the opt out and if it comes again file a complaint with the postal authorities.

hope that helps...
