You will have a higher incidence of post operative nausea and vomiting. But aside from that there is no problem. Just remove your tampon and use a pad. Make sure you tell the nurse getting you ready in the pre-op holding area. Also, tell your anesthesia provider so that they can give you some medication to help prevent the nausea.

I would inform the doctor before your surgery and see what he/she has to say.

its not big deal. when the nurse asks when your last period was (and she will), tell her you're on it now.

Just that easy.
