I like Austin for a girl!

It's unusual for a girl, but "boy names" are becoming all the rage for girls these days.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't use any of those "alternate" spellings though. It doesn't make the name any more "feminine"... it just makes you look illiterate, and causes nothing but grief for your kid.

I live in Austin Tx it's pretty like Austyn(ne) it is kinda masculine though Stephen F. Austin is the man in the battle of the alamo that it's named after.

Sorry, don't like it for a girl. Sounds very masculine to me. I have a second cousin named Connie who is a male. Supposedly, Connie used to be very common as both. I don't think so. I'd be embarrassed to be a Connie, male. I think I'd also be embarrassed to be an Austin, female. Just my opinion though.

I think it is super cute for a girl. I have a nephew named Austin, but I don't see it as a gender specific name. It is kind of like Micah or Jesse.

Beautiful for a boy. But maybe something similar for a girl like Autina.

It's cute, I like the suggestion about Austyn, but whatever floats your boat. I think that it is fine for a girl to have a guys name, I used to know a dude named Mallory, yeah..thats a different story..=]

If you like I'd say go for it. Personal preference though I would say definitely a boys name.
