...with strong female protagonists in the central role? (by strong female I don't mean a woman trying to imitate how she thinks a man would act if he were strong). Just a real woman, a real human being. Any time period is ok.

Come on people...that's the best you've got? (I mean seriously, 'Weird Science'? That movie is completely sexist!) Gimme some indie films, something interesting. You generally won't find strong females in big blockbuster hits (those are completely male-dominated. Women are usually just girlfriends or sluts or...I dunno...ornaments, in those). That's why I'm asking this question in the first place. Hit me baby!
