Water as early in the day as possible. It allows the excess water to evaporate. If you water in the evening and the excess does not evaporate, you risk fungus growth. Watering early in the day also helps so that the sun does not burn the foliage due to water on the leaves (think of a magnifying glass with the sun!)

Well, it helps to be awake. Outside. Not hung over as the long hose is well, frightening to some. If you have the heart for it, water it before the sun even peeks out and if you like to pretend you are a garden nymph, the dew still on the lilacs and the magnolias, etc. It also helps to know the time of day, if you work during normal hours, don't dress up. Coffee in hand go out and meet up with that skunk who keeps the dog crazy all night. There's NOTHING like an early morning encounter with nature, unless you are a member of the original Roundtable Group or are Truman Capote reincarnated, he detested the sun. You of course like me, love it but try to keep unwrinkled so...early morning, toodle ooooooh! PS. Night is bad, you only do night if it's apparent you need out of the house to escape certain people and certain "uncomfortable moments" then the garden is always good. Just watch where you walk.

Never water in the evening. It incourages mold, incects, and other lawn problems. Always water in the early morning hours when the ground is cool. This way it can be absorbed by the lawn before the sun comes out and evaporates it. In the evening the ground is very hot from the sun and water evaporates fast. You will just be putting moisture in the air and not in the ground which is what you need to do to keep the lawn healthy.

Watering is best done in the evenings to allow the water to penetrate into the soil around the root zone of plants before the sun can cause it to evaporate.

The only problem with this is that, on still nights, this can provide high humidity, especially if the leaves of the plants are wetted, with the result that ideal conditions for the establishment of molds and fungi are created.

On such occasions it is best to water early in the morning in time for the water to penetrate the soil before the sun gets too high in the sky.

Watering in the heat of the day is discouraged because too much water is lost via evaporation. Similarly, using a sprinkler on a windy day can result in water being lost via evaporation or missing the target area because of fluctuations in the wind.

The best time to water your lawn is early morning before it really gets hot!! Watering it in the evening helps a little but the grass benefits by drawing the water up through its roots in the daytime. Hope this helps!!!

Do it merely till now daybreak. Doing it jointly as the solar is maximum well liked is a waste of water simply by evaporation. Watering in the night because of the fact the solar is going down is the worst time in case you want to ward off mushrooms, which rely on moisture and darkness to form.

In the evening right before dark. It evaporates slower thus takes less water for the yard.

Usually the evening, or after the sun is almost down, is best. If you try and water them during the day when it's hot, you'll end up burning the plants. I usually water after dinner, around 7:00. The sun isn't completely down, but my flowers are out of the hot sun.

In the evening!! If you water your grass during the day and the sun is out, there is a chance that your grass will "burn". Hope this helps!
