A trade was proposed to me and I am having a dilemma about whether to accept it.

I get Giambi (nyy).

They get Thomas (tor)

Their stats are similar, except that Giambi has a highter batting average. But Giambi also has the steroids problem.

Should I accept or reject?

Run as far from this deal as you can. Giambi has a foot problem that will linger throughout the season but currently that is the least of his worries. He finally flat out admitted steriod use and the Yankees are looking hard at their legal options so they can dump him and his contract. He may also be facing discipline from the league...he gave them evidence that he used and they are exploring the player association contract to see if he can be suspended as well. And how long before congress piles on? He is in for a rough and long season now so stay as far away from him as you can.

Definitley accept this trade. Just for the reason you said, Giambi has a higher batting average. They both are injury concerns, they both are old, and they both have the same type of numbers, but like you and I both know, Giambi can hit for a better average and that can make all the difference in your fantasy league.

Obviously what he did is wrong and if your gut feeling is that he could be cut by the team or suspended or something like that then don't do that trade. I am having second thoughts myself now because this could be a big thing.

You might actually be safer to just hold on to Thomas now that I think about it...

Do it. Giambi is on the Rbi train called the Yankees. If your league where Thomas is only a Uti. Take the trade. I can put Giambi on Uti and 1b which is helpful if my 1b goes down. Its a good trade. Forget the big hurt. Go for Giambi

Reject the offer. Big Hurt a.k.a Thomas is better i find. Giambi is a bit slumpy.
