Russians withdrew form WWI because the Bolshevik came into power. the war was highly unpopular with the citizens which helped them come into power. first thing they did was withdrew from the war that put them into power. the US entered the war was a combo of the sinking of the British liner Lusitania in 1915, with 128 Americans aboard and the zimmerman telegram which promised Mexico assistance in recovering territory lost to the US if it allied with Germany

The 3 official causes of America entering the war were harrassment of our shipping, the Zimmerman note and the sinking of the Lusitania.
However, read Colin Simpson book Lusitania. It is information from British Archives which were opened before American Archives were open.
British officials sent a memo that their ships were to ram German U boats flying the flags of other nations, particularly the flag of the United States.
They made sure that it fell into the hands of British intelligence. American leaders knew all about it.
Germany requested that the U. S. paint the flag of the United States on their ships and the U. S. refused. If so, our ships probably would not have been harassed. It would have been impossible for the British to paint flags on their ships while on the high seas. They didn't have spray paints back then.
The Lusitania was a British ship. Germany said it had contraband and it would be a target once it was on the high seas. They posted warnings in all New York and Washington newspapers as well as all ticket offices to that effect. Some prominent Americans still decided to board the ship in an air of thumbing their nose at the kaiser. The ships manifest which has been revealed in recent years did have contraband.
The only reason left would be the Zimmerman note and by itself wouldn't have been considered important enough to commit our country to war.
The United States was neutral but unable to trade with Germany like it did Britain and our financial interest (banking) leaned toward Britain.
On a personal note, I worked at a bank back in the 50s and an elderly banker then said it was banks that got the United States in World War I and if the American people ever found help it would really cause a big stink. Back in the 50s it probably would have. There were still World War I vets living and family with living memories of loved ones that had been lost. The information has become known in the past 15 -20 years but it hasn't cause a big stir.

actually the revolution didnt end it.. it was the after thought
Russia suffered defeats inside Russia by Austria and Germany. A peace agreement happened and Russia pulled out. This allowed Germany out of a two front war and able to send all of their troops into france (sadely for them it didnt help).
Russia's defeat and a unstable government lead soon to the revolution.
The United States didnt want anything to do with a war that was not affecting them.
However when several U.S. ships (naval and passenger) were sunk by U-Boats, this made washington very mad.
then the worst happened. The Zimmerman letter: The United States intercepts a letter from Berlin to Mexico asking for a alliance in which Mexico would seize Texas, Arizona, California, and New Mexico back into their own.
This eventually pushed the US into world war 1.
there is one thing m,ost people dont realize.
While the britisha nd the french had the germans in check, they could not defeat them. In fact the U-Boats were starving Britian. Britian imports a very large percentage of their food and other needs.
History says that if the United States had not entered the war, Britian may have held a month at most.
Hince World War 2 may never have happened because France and Britian would have fallen.

Russia left the war after Nov. 1917, because the Bolsheviks promised on launching their coup that they wouild end the war at any cost. The Soviets signedc the treaty of Brest-Litovsk in which they ceded most of Ukraine to Germany.
The U.S. entered the war in 1917, because of an intercepted and decoded telegram from the German foreign minister Zimmermann to the German ambassador in Mexico City that he should approach the Mexican government with an offensive-defensive alliance against the U.S. Mexico was to invade the U.S. from the southwest and recover territory lost during the 19th century. Germany would wage submarine warfare against the U.S. eastcoast.

The Czar was having problems at home and withdrew so he could try to quel the Bolshevik uprising. Let's just say it did not work out so well. As for the US, two things, The Zimmerman Telegram and the Lusitania.
