Come on, Jesse. You know no one promised such a thing, because there are too many events out of the control of political candidates that go into the price of gasoline.
I heard a Democrat once say that Bush raised the price of gas so that he and his pals could get rich. Also silly.

Remember Clinton dipped into the national reserve in the late 90's to try to stem the rising prices of oil... didn't work.
The fact is, as long as there is high demand for oil and products like gas made from oil, prices will continue to go up.
Gas prices are no more Bush's fault than they were Clinton's... it's simple supply-and-demand.
