because of the fact that he is amazing think how dumb he would feel if calvin turned out to be the next jerry rice, hes a freak of nature if the raiders didnt need a qb so badly he would have gone first, plus look on the bright side.. what 2 corners can contain roy williams and calvin johnson. No team can contain anquan and fitzgerald now think of that times 7, roy already can catch it over 2 corners this might be the best 2 wideouts since rice and john taylor

Millen needs to go, I agree. That said, I think they had to pick Calvin Johnson, even if he doesn't pan out the upside is just too large to ignore.

What helps the Lions too is that with Mike Martz as coordinator he will have a chance to shine early. Think Torry Holt in St. Louis, another receiver that went early who became a superstar.

They felt like Calvin was the BEST PLAYER IN THE DRAFT. Only time will tell. Millen should have lost his job a long time ago, but 99% of GMs would have taken CJ at that spot, too because he is a "can't-miss" prospect. So that is why Millen isn't taking that much NATIONAL heat for this.

Well and I have no source of this, but since Johnson was "the best player" in the draft, I think they took him in hopes of trading him to Tampa or whom ever for more picks, but I am sure they are pretty happy with him, but then again they loved Charlie Rogers too. And yes you GM should be fired 2 years ago.

Yes!!! He's done nothing with that team and as long as he is there nothing will happen.
