Well, democrats will say republicans..but I think "republicans " overall don't really care about people one way or another..however democrats, who are generally the first to call names when thay have no real position..just wait and see what I mean..act as though they are better than anyone else or "care" more for the helpless. This is a response of the superior person and therefore all other must be inferior..thus making the democrats true racist.

I'm not sure if there's any statistic on that. I haven't been able to find one.

Although southerners do tend to vote GOP in federal elections, they also vote Democrat in statewide elections. They're not as party loyal as you might think. Plus, a lot of Republican-voting Yankees moved down South, which skews the vote a bit. There's not so much a way to tell. White people aren't the only racists, too. As much as I like to pick on the Confederacah, people of all races can be racist.

Dems!

They were opposed to racial integration in the south which the Reps supported.

The south is largely controlled by old school Dems.I don't know about you but when I think South I think racist and I think Dems.

Dems run on a platform promising to uplift blacks and constantly remind minorities of racial gaps yet they never do anything to fix it. Their voting strategy that they think miniorites are stupid and if they promise to deliver them from problems that don't exist they'll keep getting re-elected on the premise that they're working on a solution.

Read up on an intellectual named Thomas Sowell and see what he has to say about race, democrats, and republicans. He himself is a black man.

After passage of the voting rights act, many white southerners left the democratic party and became republicans.

The basic republican strategy for the last 40-50 years is to divide the electorate along race lines. This is called the Southern Strategy.

Poor and working class white people should ask themselves whether the republican party has served their interests. The republican party serves the interests of the rich.

When Lyndon Johnson signed the Civil Rights Bill into law in 1965 he said that he feared he had turned the South over to the Republicans for generations to come.

Guess what? He was right!

Do you think the KKK votes Democrat???

I have yet to me a Southern Republican who isn't blatantly racist and unapologetic about it.

while it's not 100 percent... Republcians have more...

they usually get a lot of the older vote in the south... these were the same people that were fighting against civil rights 40 years ago... some people change... but not everyone...

doesn't have anything really to do overall with the party's policies though... and it's still a very small percentage of the overall Republican popuation...

do Republicans know, more white people are on welfare overall?

The libs are. Anyone who accuses people of being racists or not caring about poor people without knowing anything about the person or people that they accuse are using a 'race card' and are generally the ones who are the guiltiest.

Democrats believe in quotas and affirmative action, and both of those judge by race, so I guess Democrats, if you look at the facts.

Republicans, no doubt. You know they want to stop illegal immigration just because they're afraid of Mexicans.
