Would it be a good idea to start a business that would be a restaurant and a nightclub?

No for many reasons. Number one, liquor licenses are expensive and hard to get you will have to have approval from the neighborhood and your landlord. Number two, you will have to sign a commerical lease with a personal guarantee. This will be a minimum of three to five years and you will be held liable if you can not pay the entire term. I do not know of any commercial renter who does not require a personal guarantee and yes they do stand up in court. Number three, food is persiable. Number four, restaurants have a high rate of failure.

It depends on so much more than should you open, but rather do you have 1. the experience 2. the guts and determination 3. the skills needed and of course 4. twice the amount of money you think it will take to open it in liquid assets that you could lose without killing yourself.

I've been in the business for 30 years and currently own two successful restaurant/bars. You can do it and be successful but be real sure because you can also lose your shirt!

A lot of places serve food in the early evening, then just drinks later at night. If you are in a neighborhood with a lot of single young people this will work well, and is very common.
