would it break a person's back
even if they were riding in a car and their car hit the ground with that much force??

"hits the ground with that much force" it would be a pretty small car if it was pressing on the ground with that much force sitting still. Thats about the force 480lbs produces in earth gravity. It probably could break your back, but it might not.

It depends on how much area it's spread out over. Since F = ma and Earths gravity is 9.8 m/s² a force of 2149 N is equivalent to a 'weight' of
2149/9.8 = about 219 Kg.
