it is a males name but if yooh wanted to use it as a girls name this would be fine to but spelled arlynn instead

I would think more boy. It ryhmes with Marlon, which is a male name. Arlene sounds to be the feminine version.

umm it sounds kind of boyish to me but it cud be a girls name. I personally dont like the name, but that's just me. You should name ur child whatever you so please. Arlen...hmmm...yea i still see a boy when i say this name.
