If every person uses this principle imajine the chaos. We need to discipline our passions for the sake of others. to express our passions involve other people most of the time, or at least another living being. Perhaps this is the reality of the contemporary world, we are very much passion driven and look at the results. we have wars, violence, diseases, broken families, drug addicitions and sexual slavery because our passions just rule over us, the human community.
It is very irresponsible for anyone who follows this principle beacuse our passions are driven towards others most of the time we express them. We have to look at the broader picture before making such a statement. You are asking the right question becasue this is serius matter. As a society we need to be more aware of this issue.

Passion could be the key to a happy and joyful life. I say could because it is fine if you have the key to get to passion. I am not talking about the emotionality of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. Passion in an emotion which is just below Joy, Knowledge, Empowerment, Freedom, Love, and Appreciation which as a group are number one on the scale. Below these are a long list of other emotions both positive and negative. The idea is to discover processes which will allow one to move up the scale. These I found through the teachings of Jerry and Esther Hicks and I have never looked back. Yes, find the feeling place of passion and accustom yourself to the glow. Joy to All.

It would be great to feel passionate about something all the time, and many claim they are. Realistically, I do not believe that passion can sustain a person for any length of time, and I don't think the world could handle populations in constant states of unbridled enthusiasm. In order to survive the world as it is, we learn to control our passions. But what is passion? Whatever it is, it cannot be a life key because it can't last indefinitely--something that intense cannot last.

Yes, if you dont have passion in what you live for then you feel as if who you are and what you do are insignificante, therefore you feel like life is meaningless.

NOTE to krneel12, passion is not a whim, it is a burning desire from your soul that doesn't die out easily.

Unless your are substituting the word passion for emotion, if so then all I have is irrelivent, since the 2 are very different in all aspects.

How do you understand passion? The word "passio" actually means "to suffer". However, the meaning you probably are thinking is related to one's emotions-- in this case, if you consider meaning in life to indicate alientation, bitterness and regret, then by all means, "passion" is the key to a meaningful life.

Passion is a componant of Love, a truth in LOVE is not specifically Passion. We as individuals always seek Love in terms of forms, and through this,it is my strong belief that while possesing qualities of love in strength, truth and positiveness, there is great meaning to life....it is our continuance.

passion only give us zeal, not control.
so the key for having a meaningful life is not just a passion, also somethings like love, care, trust, good relationship & money not more.

Passion is not all that it is cracked up to be. To act from a position of passion is to act from a position of emotion.

It is emotions like rage that lead to violence.
It is emotions like hatred that lead to violence and corruption.
It is emotions like anger that lead to revenge.

Acting on one's passions is not necessarily a meaningful life. It is certainly an emotional life.

God, definitely not!

*ahem*.

That phrase basically advocates submitting to every whim and desire that may sprout from your cauldron of passions.
