cross multiply 94x=77*26 94x=2002
simplify by dividing by 94 94x/94=2002/94 x=21.29787

All you have to do is set up a porportion...

77 = X
94 26

Then cross multiply
94X = 2002
Then divide both sides by 94
and the answer is about 21.2978

Since you were given the areas (quadratic,) you must take the square root of the areas for your linear proportion.

Therefore:

√77/√94 = x/26

(√94) (x) = (26)(√77)

x = 23.53 cm
