ok well first i know who jacob is because i did ALOT of research on it. my theory is that jacob is lockes BAD TWIN! think about it... if you read the bible their is a story in there about 2 brothers.. one of the brothers heals fast and always gets the miracles and the other brother is like a spirit and kills the other brother( i am not sure if i am telling this story right) but anyways my point is is that jacob who is johns bad twin stole johns birthright. because if jacob wasnt his bad twin then why is john SO important to the island??? And remember in a flashback of juliet jacob healed juliets sister rachels cancer just like john heals! get it! so what i am trying to say is that JACOB IS JOHNS BAD TWIN!!!!!!!!!

I read that theory on-line also. There are lots of theories floating around the web that makes sense. A lot of it seems to be biblical. I am not sure why. I don't think that Jacob is the leader of the island, I think that guy Richard is. You know the one that handed Locke Sawyers file. I think it's him because he is the one who saw Ben in the island when Ben was small and he was searching for his mom...remember? But see that Richard never aged...his hair is shorter but that's it. The theory that Jacob is the black smoke makes sense also because it's all around the shack...I dunno...guess we will find out a little more Wednesday.

I like this theory!!
BUT, I think Jacob is being held there against his will, hence the "help me" to Locke that Ben did not hear. I think Ben is holding him there with the powder that John found surrounding the shack that Jacob was in.

I think that it is an interesting theory, but I don't think that is who Jacob is. I think that Jacob is being held against his will. I don't know who he is, but he is probably one of the original island inhabitants.
