My snake is really sick and i know its going to die soon... I want to put it out of its misery before I leave for the army. What is the best way to do it without putting the snake through any pain?

I dont have money to spend on it. I had to buy a new car last week because mine died and cant be fixed. Prom put me back about 400 and all this other stuff. Its not like i dont want to but I know how expensive vets are and i cannot afford one right now.

If it's a non-poisonous snake - let it go way out in the woods somewhere. It might get well out in nature!

definitly just take it to the vet and tell tem you can no longer take care of it they will either take care of it or put it down humanely. you wouldn't kill yur dog or cat at hom ejust because you couln't afford the vet a snake is no different. Please take the responsible rout becasue if he's not close to dying the vet will care for it and find it a new home.

How do you know it is going to die soon? What is wrong with him? Has he had any vet treatment at all?

Have you considered giving him to a reptile rescue? There are folks that will take him in and attempt to treat what is wrong with him.....or, if they feel nothing can be done, they will euthanize him humanely.

Email me if I can help.

well letting it go its a bad idea, never let animals go in the wild that are not native to the area look what happend in florida with the burms put the snake in the freezer if its dieing, whats wrong with it anyway ?

What you should do is drop it off at a nearby vet who can treat reptiles. just give it to them, and you will not have to pay for treatment. they will try their best to save it, or if they have to, humanely put it to sleep. this is much better than trying to kill it yourself, letting it go, or letting it go on. if you try to kill it, you will be consumed with guilt and be depressed. you will be mad at yourself and feel terrible. letting it go gives it the chance to not know how to get food, be killed by another animal, or a million other terrible options. and just leaving it alone... you get the idea. so you should drop it off at a vet and hope for the best. there is a nice chance that he will be okay.

You can either have your vet humanely put it down or you put it in the fridge it will go into a hibernation like mode then put it in the freezer and its done. Remember its cold blooded.

If it's ill, why have you not got it under veterinary care or have given it to someone else who can do something? Just leaving it to die is selfish.

chop its head off. Or you could try and find someone who would want it and take it to a vet.
