It's for men or women. It is a sleeping pill! It is for sleeping difficulties so it does not matter what gender a person is. Lunesta (eszopiclone) can be addictive and people can become dependent on it. It has nasty withdrawal symptoms. Read this on eszopiclone (lunesta) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eszopiclone and this http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/medmaster/a605009.html
So she is wrong. I answered your question and more.
Regards

There doesn't seem to be any reason why men can't take Lunesta that I could find.
