Income is income. If you don't get it next year, then you won't have to report it next year. Asking someone with knowledge in this area would be a good plan.

Only if you allow it. Bonuses are not regular income. If you get behind, however, they can attach your tax return, suspend any licenses you have, and bottom line drive you to suicide.

Have the court order include protection for your tax return, licenses and other assets. You have as much a right to live a normal life too.

My husband got stuck in this situation with the ex-and they sure did include it! Why, I'll never know...His attorney was horrid, though...make sure you protect your income. Unfortunately, the courts went off of previous years income tax, which included his biggest bonus yet, including a couple of special awards he got that year. Bogus.

No. Because your employer doesn't have to give you an annual bonus. Therefore, you shouldn't expect it, neither should anyone else.
