What do you think "Time is an illusion" means?

because it is...we continue to create new ways to measure things (time is a measurement that is man created) as a way to bring order to our lives. In reality, "life" or the preception of the unfolding of things is always in the now, we just beak it down into parts or beginning-middle-end points.

Our perception of time is based on the speed of light. Its been theorized that time is like a circle so therefore time-travel would be possible.

JUST because we perceive time flowing in one direction, does that mean there "really is" a difference between the past and future. The old philosophical question has been re-examined by Huw Price, of the University of Sydney, in the context of quantum mechanics. He concludes that the idea that the past is not influenced by the future is an anthropocentric illusion, a "projection of our own temporal asymmetry". By allowing signals from the future to play a part in determining the outcome of quantum experiments, he can resolve all the puzzles and paradoxes of the quantum world.

In a book called 'The End of Time' by Julian Barbour which presents a fairly convincing theory that time is just an illusion and really the universe is just made up of infinite seperate 'instants', or different configurations of the Universe.

Yes So is this world. IT is called Maya (illusion) and is temporary and full of misery. Only one fourth of the souls come here. The rest are enjoying blissful loving pastimes with God also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. We are not this body,IE; race, color, nationality, religion, mind, intellect, etc. But everyone is identifying with it as them self that is called false ego and illusion. There is a spiritual time which is beyond this time but it is not realized on this material plane. for info on this topic go to harekrishnatemple.com Read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedatnta PRabhupada- tells all about the illusion of (Kala) Time

I think it is true, Time is only built for the body The reality is if we are dealing with GOD, there is no such thing as time, because of statements like through his stripes you were healed> past tense ! Some people say go in GOD speed so this mean it is already done but we must believe.

I think it means that people have a hard time understanding time so they just say what is easier to believe, its not even real and that we don't have to think about it having a beginning or an end. Though its hard to believe, I fully have faith that time never had a beginning and will never have an end because God always was and always will be.

time is real, such that it takes time has passed in me typing this sentence to you.

however the perception of time passing is a personal point of view, such that " a watched pot never boils." of course the pot of water will boil eventually (and the time it takes can be calculated depending on the volume of water to boil, the heat temperature applied to the water, and at what elevation you're boiling the water, et cetera and so forth) and with consistant conditions the water will always boil w/in a certain time,

wow, look at all that stuff i typed. well you know what they say..."time flies..."

(or we could really get into it and talk about the finer points of general relativity versus special relativity)

just what it said
have you ever gone a long time without looking at the time? without thinking about it? didn't it feel more natural to you? lesson constraining? I have a quote I made up a while ago....
-the greatest proof that time is false is that we can so easily manipulate it.-

do you mean like how my clock seems to jump ahead whenever I sit at the PC, or in front of TV, or walk past the fridge ....
but slows down when an authoritive woman says, "We have to talk ..." ("my gosh, how long have we been talking? ... Oh, 27 seconds")

I think we don't really accept that our time is limited. We need to live every moment fully; this is our only chance.
Time passes quickly. LIVE your life.
