be considerate of your mother. you have to realize that you are the child and she is the adult. why not wear earphones if you have to blast your music..yes, you will probably ruin your hearing but at least then you will know what a hearing loss is like.
i lost over half of my hearing at an early age..and loud music or noise bothers me more then if I had 100% hearing...my wife don't believe this when she talks too loud to me but my hearing specialist told me that when you have a hearing loss your are more sensitive to certain sounds..why cause your mother aggravation?

Play your music loud only when she's not home or outside. Otherwise, listen to it at a reasonable level. If you can't deal, then spring for sound-proofing your bedroom. ;D

Consider ear-phones/head-phones... That will make both of your lives easier.. I get an iPod or a MP3 and enjoy the music.

Happens to everybody. It's all part of growing up.

It's secretly part of her plan. If everything in your life at home were perfect, you would never want to move out!

As one of thee older generation I can understand her saying that. I have 4 children 2 of each. They also liked their music a little louder, than I liked. I kept asking my oldest son who was out in our Garage playing some of his music a little louder than necessary to please turn it down I was watching TV After I had asked him several times to turn it down with out any results. I went out for the last time, asked him one more time to turn it down. He walked over to the receiver and turned it up. I walked over to the receiver and cut all of the speaker wires. After he paid to have them fixed, the next time I asked him to turn down th music he did and I thanked him like a good Dad should. Moral is listen to us, some times we can make you wish you had. Besides we aren't going to let you do things you way, Just like you aren't going to let your kids things their way
