I am an only child and almost everyone I meet assumes that I am spoiled; believe me it is not true (to the extent of the preconceived notions). I come from a poor working family. Does anyone else experience this???

My daughter is an only child from a poor family. She has a lot, but my mother sent her a lot too.

haha yes well I'm not an only child anymore but people would all make these remarks like oh yes poor you, all sarcastic, because my mom had issues so I was sent over to my dad's, and everyone especially my cousins thought I was so spoiled because I was an only...so stupid! but now I'm not so whatever.
