When you study, you're paying good money to learn something.
When you go to work in the future, you get paid good money to apply what you've learnt to your work. If you can't apply what you've learnt to your work, you'll quickly find that you don't have a job for long.
In this scenario, you are getting paid. Maybe not in terms of monetary returns, but in the form of a free course which gives you more knowledge for your work in the future. It gives you an opportunity to show in your resume your commitment to learning new things and how you will sacrifice your free time in the pursuit of gaining experience and knowledge. If that does not motivate you to want to take this opportunity, then i'm afraid that you will find it difficult in the real working life in future.
Go for it!

If you don't think this opportunity worthwhile, don't do it. Because if so you don't deserve the chance, and will last about 2 minutes in the real world. Any IT position at worthwhile level demands that you are prepared to put in the hours when required. If a server gets trashed you can't go home at 5 and expect to have a job next day. I once spent a week on site, maybe 1 hours sleep a day when a disgruntled employee took out all their servers. I got one up the first day and made it cover everything, then all the others repaired and taking on their correct functions. Without doing this I would never have won their contract.

What you learn in the course could be very valuable later on in life... but if you are not going to get paid you have a choice to make. I would take the course and be the assistant just to learn as much as I could.

why do you kids always think of money,,, you can not see farther than your pocket book how about you pay to learn...
you have been given a great opportunity here and the only thing you think of is MONEY!!!
now I know you don't understand, but that two week course will cost your school around $2,500.00 it don't come free.
now when you apply for a job and you have on your job application the experience of two years IT coordinators assistance, that will count big time to an employer

There is too many experiences people that are getting the job but are technologically impairs because they don't have it.
The people who do have technology are the one that will perform better than experienced people.

Depends on if there is another offer out there - if you just want to learn - take it. If you need the money - move on.

Yes, I would do it. As long as I didn't have other things going. The things you would learn would benefit you now or in the future.

Well, if you're not getting anything out of it, and it's going to take all of that time, then why do it?
Nine hours a day for two weeks? I wouldn't do it.
