Wow that is a interesting question. I heard the same thing too. I however take these vitamins I bought for hair, skin and nails and my hair is growing fast, same with my nails and my skin looks great. They are from Nature's Bounty, I bought them from my local grocery store, buy one get one free.

Biotin is included in the vitamins

A prenatal vitamin is just a multi vitamin with a stronger dose of calicum, vitamin d and iron for you and the baby. I continued taking mine after I had my children and still do. My youngest son is now almost 4. If you take them on a regular basis you will notice a big difference in how quick your hair will grow and how strong and long your finger nails will get. If you are having discharge in your nipples then you need to see an OBGYN to see if you have a milk duct problem in your breasts or the chance you may be pregnant. The vitamins shouldn't cause those symptoms.

Prenatal vitamins are specifically designed to help women before and during pregnancy. As the body gets ready for birth and breastfeeding, the milk ducts in the breast are help to "ripen" with prenatal vitamins. So that's what is causing your discharge. It's nothing to worry about. Just shows you that your milk ducts are working. But if you're taking the vitamins just to encourage your hair growth, take a B multivitamin instead. Vitamin B is great for hair and nails. But the short answer to your question is that prenatal vitamins won't hurt you and are a good multivitamin for women to take.

Prenatal vitamins are simple a normal multivitamin that has a bit extra for growing a healthy baby. They don't have any hormones in them so your discharge will be unrelated to the vitamins.

Vitamins are not hormones and therefore are unlikely to be responsible for a discharge from your nipples. There are medical conditions that might be so discuss this with your doctor, and soon.

Won't do anything to your body - just higher doses of multi-vitamins. Also won't help your hair or anything, you are better sticking to a normal multivitamin.
