Sean Connery is a great actor but for me it's got to be Steve McQueen. He was the original 'King of Cool' and starred in some of my favourite 60's and 70's movies, who can forget the 'Cooler King' in the 'Great Escape' or 'Bullitt', 'The Thomas Crown Affair', 'Papillon', 'The Getaway', 'Le Mans', 'The Sandpebbles' or 'The Magnificent Seven'. Even later when he was alot older he was still just as brilliant in 'Tom Horn'.
He was also an ex US marine, a brilliant racing driver, competed in numerous off-road motorcycle races once even representing America in sort of a Motocycle olympics, did alot of his own stunts, learned martial arts from Bruce Lee and finally actually carried Lee's coffin when he died.
The strangest thing is in all his films I can't actually remember him ever raising his voice....he was just too cool !!!

Steve McQueen-no contest. But Sean was the best James Bond.

Definately Steve McQueen, all of his films are classics! Sean Connery just cannot compete!!!

It's got to be Steve McQueen purely for the fantastic motorcycle chase in "The Great Escape" and he did all his own stunts! If you add "Bullitt" too it makes Steve McQueen doubley the coolest!
