Thanks so much if you help
(you dont have to anwer all of them xD)
1) why are solid particiles required for cloud formation?
2) Suppose the tempature is 59 degress F, What would it be in C? Show your work

I have no idea how to answer these! x.x;

I'll help you out with number 2. The first one should be in your textbook.

Anyway, number two requires some algebra.

To convert from Celcius to F, you do this:

(9/5)C + 32 = F

So to get C from F, you do this:

(F - 32)(5/9) = C

Just plug in the numbers, and you're good to go.

1. "Only in the absence of solid surfaces can droplets stay liquid to very low temperature."*

2. C=5(F-32)/9
=5(59-32)/9
=5(27)/9
=15

.....Water............F C
freezing point......32 0
boiling point......212 100
range.................180 100

For every 9 degrees F you have 5 degrees C. (180/100) So to convert F to C you must subtract 32 (the difference in freezing points), divide by 9, and then multiply by 5.
C=5(F-32)/9

Similarly to convert from C to F the formula is (9C/5)+32

Clouds need something condensate on they can just condensate in mid-air. Water would have to freeze into ice in mid-air to become a particle of it's own. solid particle are needed because it acts like a nucleus of water. Just like an atom with neutrons and protons.

To convert 59 degree F into C is complete by this simple formula.

1.) C= F- 32 /1.8
2.) F= C * 1.8 +32

To convert 59 degrees F into C, you would have to use equation 1.

59 - 32 = 27
27 /1.8 = 15 degrees C

Solid particles are required for water vapor to 'nucleate' around. This is kinda like the 'fog' on you window, but on a much, much smaller scale.

To convert from F to C
C = (F-32)*5/9
To convert from C to F
F = 32 + 9*C/5
so
C = (59-32)*5/9 = 15

Answer to question 2

Tc = (5/9)*(Tf-32)
Tc = (5/9)*(58-32)
Tc = (5/9)*(26)
Tc = 14.4444444444 (etc.) Degrees

(Tc stands for Temperature in C and Tf stands for Temperature in F)
