notice that they are all multiples of 17.

It's y = (x-3)17 = 17x-51

The rate of change for this linear function is just the slope; you don't need the y intercept. So use the slope formula, which is below:

s=change in y/change in x=[-17-(-51)]/(2-0)
s=34/2=17

Rate of change = change in y divided by change in x.

m=(34-0)/(5-3)=17
