The key is to gradually increase the number of reps you do. You should always write down how many of each exercise you did and the amount of time it took you to do it. Crunches are a good exercise when done correctly. Make sure when you crunch up you are looking at the ceiling and your shoulders are moving toward the ceiling too. Any exercise you do will build strength if you feed your body right. Try to eat protein within 1 hour of working out and then again within 20 minites after. If you aren't working hard you don't need to eat alot of it. Also, you should prime your body by doing 5 minites of cardio before your strength training, so jog in place, do jumping jacks... anything along those lines. Just make a goal of doing a little more everyday and pretty soon you'll start seeing results. Please vary your exercises too... this will keep those muscles guessing and keep you from getting bored.

Yes! My friend (I try to as well) does push-ups every day because 1 she loves exercising 2 she owns like three horses a goat and several other farm animals and 3 shes the eldest of five kids, so she kinda has to be strong! But the point is, she is sooooo strong!!!!!!!!!!! so to answer your question: yes it does make you stronger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it does, because its a weight bearing exercise. Your arms are moving around half your body weight, with each push up, and that would increase your arm strength. That is of course assuming you are doing them properly. It also helps improve your core strength in your torso, providing you keep your body straight while doing them.
