No. The way to get started is just do it. Find out what community theater groups are in your area and go see some plays. Volunteer, then get some small parts and work your way up to bigger parts. You probably won't get rich acting, but you can have a really wonderful time and meet some great people.

No. Check out your local community theater. This will give you a chance to do some acting to see if it's what you REALLY want to do. I do some part time, as a hobby.

Find a local theater group and work with them. You might have to start by painting sets or something, but would get your foot in the door. Then when they have tryouts for their various shows, you'll know about them and they'll know you.
