Use an Internet search. Try to find some site about the American Civil War with its configuration such that the SUBTOPICS are arranged in ALPHABETICAL ORDER. You should be able to find at least one pertinent topic for any given letter. Maybe try Wikipedia.
Also, think of or guess a subject beginning with a given letter. Do a Google search on that, IN CONJUCTION with "civil war" or "american civil war" (in quotes so it will look for the whole word). Like:
Antietam "civil war"
borders "civil war"
confederacy "civil war".
