It started a couple months ago with just a little blackish green spotting, I figured it's algae. Now it has turned into a ruglike piece all over him and it's even fuzzy looking. It's all pretty dark, brown-black. I looked online and can't find anything on disease of lobsters or crayfish that fit this description. Do you think it's algea growth or a disease? He's not sluggish and eats great, nothing abnormal except the fuzzy black stuff.
I should add one of his tankmates got a fungus recently, we treated him with Pimafix, but this didn't chnage the lobster one bit.

It sounds just like black beard or brush algae to me and it's not at all uncommon on the shells of crayfish. See if it looks like the algae on the plant in this photo:

It that's the case, and I'm quite sure it is, it will not harm the crayfish in any way.

BTW, I would ditch the Pimafix, it's barely worth the bottle it comes in to be honest.
