Jenna is an idiot, what? 308/350 is not .12; it is .88.

Start with the question.
What number do I multiply $350 to get $308?
Stated algebraically.
350x = 308 giving
x = 308/350 dividing
x = 0.88 changing to percent
x = 88%
Since the original price is 100% and the discount rate is the difference in percentage between the original price and the sale price.
Discount rate = 100% - 88% =12%
Hope this helps

Yep, Gkim is right. You can do it like this:

308/350 = 0.88, meaning that 308 is 88% of 350. So, the discount is 100 - 88 (%, that is), which is 12%.

1-(308/350)=0.12

It was marked down 12%. I guess that would be the discount rate.
