I love the smokey eye look but everytime I try to do it, I always end up looking like a raccoon. Maybe I'm just over doing it. I'm not sure.
Anyone got any good tips?

Take a black liner and line the top of your eyelids with it. Then, using a q-tip, smudge it. Then, cover that with a black eyeshadow and make it to your desired thickness. Smudge that with the q-tip too. Line your bottom lids as well, but don't smudge it too much or else you'll look like a zombie. If you want more definition, use liquid. Hope I could help! :)

use a smokey gray, not a black, and cover your whole lid. Then use a eyeshadow wand with black and go right along your lash line on top. Blend into grey so it looks good. Now and the bottom, use a grey or black pencil to line halfway from outside corner in. Go all the way around makes your eyes looks small, so I don't do it. USe a eyeshadow wand to apply some grey around the outside corners of your eyes. You want eveything to look smokey. This guy at Sephora did this look on me, and it looked stunning!! He walked me through it, step by step, and now I can do it at home too!! Hope I helped!

You can use dark grey or black eye shadow using an angled eye makeup brush or a black pencil eyeliner (use thin lines on upper and lower) then smudge with a Q-tip or the tip of your finger. Finger is best because the natural body heat softens the liner and makes it easier to smudge. Hope this helps!

try taking an eyeliner in a dark color that has a thin tip (like the ones that are more like twist pens than sharpenable pencils) outline the edge of your bottom and top lashes, WITHOUT MAKING A THICK LINE. then smudge the outer edges with your finger. add a shadow in a complementary colour...you can even go gold if you're using black!

hope it helps =]

i use dark brown eye shadow, w/ a taupe and chocolate eyeshadow. i normally just line the top and bottom lashes and smudge. im only 13 so i dont do the full smokey-ness, but i really lik how it turns out the way i do it.

Try using a fine tipped liner, to define your eye. Then, take a shadow in the same color family, to lightly smudge it, and add some sparkle! Hope this helps!

Oh, try using blue, that is so cute right now!

Light gray, light lilac eyeshadow and eyeliner. Go easy, if you overdo you lose the look.
