You can work without stealing. You know where it'll lead if you fall back into that trap, right?

I don't know if you have grounds to sue but you really ought to get a bit of legal advice just to make sure you stay in the clear. Otherwise your assistant manager (if and when he gets caught) might try and drag you into it or even try to frame you. You have to cover your back.

Stay honest and you can make it okay. But get some advice from someone you can trust and who'll back you up. There's not a lot we can do from here, but I am sure you can do the right thing and stay out of trouble.

Otherwise, why bother writing? You have a conscience and that's what is making you think about all this.

And you want to sue him? How about this? Go to HIS boss's boss and drop the word that he's attempting to steal from the company and asked you to help. Why does everyone try to sue people? Grow a backbone and do the right thing, instead of trying ot take people for a ride and milk them for their money. This guy is going to be in enough trouble without having you trying to get a free buck from him, which if he's going to jail, he won't have anyway, you idiot. Please. If you filed a suit against him, the company would know about it, and sue him themselves, or fire him, and then how do you expect to get any money out of him?

I would report him to management if I were you. Then see a therapist as soon as possible.

I think suing is just stupid. It's like a recovering alcoholic suing a restaurant he/she works at for serving alcohol. Face it, you're gonna work with sleaze bags no matter where you go. Get yourself a good foundation to deal with it.

If in the end you can't handle him, and management doesn't fire him, leave.

No you cant sue, but you can do the best you can do to urge him to not do it, and if that dont work try to go above him to take care of the problem, and if that doesnt work maybe this job is not for you
