You could argue that Alabama has had a great Quarterback run traditionally with 2 QB's that are Hall of Famers in Bart Starr and Joe Namath. They also have a longtime NFL Starters Kenny Stabler and Jeff Rutledge.
Right now they have Brodie Croyle as a backup with the Kansas City Chiefs.
After reading some posts you have to rank Notre Dame right up there too. Joe Montana and Joe Theisman are great as well...but those two greats = Stable and Namath and they dont have the other greats. Brady Quinn hasn't done anything yet.
Washington has had a good run of starters in the league but nothing really elite, other than Warren Moon, as you were asking.
That would be traditionally...recently I think you have to make an argument that USC has had the best recent success with Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart both being starters in the NFL and even the back-up to Matt Leinart got drafted with the Patriots.

That's hard to say. I know back in the 70's I was surprised to learn that Purdue had produced Griese and Dawson (Phipps and Danielson shouldn't count as an "elite" qbs but they did get starts in the NFL). Nowadays it seems like there are only a couple of schools that have sent the NFL several good starters. USC (Palmer and Leinart) and Marshall (Pennington and Leftwich) are the only two that I think have two starting quarterbacks as of now.
It is pretty interesting, just because a guy comes from the same program does not mean he will be successful. I'm sure that many thought Ryan Leaf would at least be as good as Drew Bledsoe coming out of Washington St. Guess again.

USC,Notre Dame and Miami. Strictly college, Florida has had some good ones the last 20 years. They didn't do well in the NFL though.

i became hoping to be the 1st so i could desire to declare, "no one greater suited positioned CHARLIE WARD. GEESH." Heisman Shmeisman. What different selections have been there? Heath Shuler, David Palmer and Marshall Faulk (particular, Maulk, yet undergo in thoughts this became college and he finished 4th). component is, there wasnt loads of a call. additionally, i will %. modern-day-day gamers, attempt to maintain debate to recent years. Michael Bishop -became good with Kansas State, did sign with Patriots, yet i think of purely snapped the ball no greater beneficial than 15 situations (shouldnt count selection). someplace interior the CFL now. possibly a Flutie return? Shawn Moore - outstanding QB from virgina, with Broncos however, never extremely performed as a results of fact Elway.

Many people refer to Michigan as QB-Universtiy, but after the last couple of years it has turned out to be WR-University.
1. Braylon Edwards
2.Jason Avant
3.Mario Manningham
4.Steve Breston
5. Greg Mathews (maybe) Fast and good hands, but small
6. Adrain Arrington, you might not know who he is but you will after this season you will. Big, very fast, sure handed reciever. You will know him very well when they are up against your favorite team and its 3rd and 7 and they pass it to him and pick up 15 yards.
7.Antonio Bass, Was going to be Michigans number 1 recieve but got hurt and might not ever be able to walk again.
And that is all in the last 6 years!
