We are having a problem with ding-dong-ditchers (people who ring the doorbell then run away) and we can't seem to catch them in time. It is getting very annoying. Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop it?

Havnt you ever seen Home Alone? Super glue a thumb tack to the doorbell. That when when they run up to ring the doorbell they will get stuck by the tack. I dont see them coming back. After a few times they will stop and you can pull the tack off the doorbell with some pliers. People coming to your house will be paying attention n will knock on the door. Or hang a sign that says shh baby sleeping do not ring doorbell

yes buy a security camera and have it placed over your door facing your door-bell and if it's at night make sure you have the porch light on or the street light is nearby where they can be seen and filmed and recorded taken to the police.

We used to do that as kids. Sit outside more often so you can see who's doing it. Laugh at them when you see them do it to someone else.
