There are many circumstances under which I prefer 'which' to 'that' as a relative:

This is the fruit which I brought.

Microsoft Grammar Checker always seems to highlight any such use of 'which' as incorrect, suggesting that 'that' should be used instead. I happen to disagree.

Who refers to persons, which refers to things and that can be either.

eg. which coat should I buy?

eg. Who are we inviting over tonight?

eg. Can you put that glass in the dishwasher?
