Yes, but he tried to keep it secret.

Liberace's final stage performance was at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on November 2, 1986. He died of complications related to AIDS at the age of 67 on February 4, 1987 at his winter house in Palm Springs, California. How and exactly when he became HIV+ will probably never be determined, as Liberace vehemently denied that he had AIDS or that he was homosexual. At the end of his life, still convinced that his fans were unaware of his sexuality or the disease he was battling, he confided in Heller his belief that if his fans knew, "that's all they'll remember about me." He is entombed in Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills Cemetery in Los Angeles.

hon, he was gay in a time when you didn't discuss whether a guy in show biz was gay or not. It was very closetted. Rock Hudson was around then when Liberace was a big deal. So was James Dean, Troy Donahue. It was don't ask, don't tell. People lived their lives very quietly then. Whispers yes, but never real fingers ever pointed at any of the big stars, even when the universe knew they were gay.

Gay Gay Gay, very very GAY! And fabulously dressed, too!!! :) Although it was a great shock to fans from the 50'swhen he came out , Liberace was considered a "dashing young bachelor" for the purposes of his performing career. It was only after he had effectively retired in the late 70's early 80's that he came out. Looking back however, it's obvious lol
