hmm well considering the way our current Christian president has dealt with the rest of the world why not let someone of a different faith try. Honestly It's odd that someone who is Mormon is running for the vote of a party that is a vast majority Protestant Christians. I think the fact that he is a Mormon will cost him the chance to run as a Republican.

There is no religious test to be President. That is why Senator's Obama and Durbin from Ilinois supported the Muslim swearing in on a Koran in the last elected senator swearing in.

Mormons are odd? Ever meet a Christian scientist or Jehovah witness?
Doesn't matter what he does, no Republican will get elected to the white house.
