There is a professional women's softball league. Unfortunately, it gets so little attention that normal people do not even know it exists. I came across a couple of their games on TV last summer; interesting for a while, but softball strategy is so different from baseball strategy at that level that I finally just turned it off.
What's unfair is that modern America will not give women's sports the same attention as mens, unless the women are scantily clad - like in beach volleyball.

Adaamainks, its all about supply and demand. Major league sports is a business. If enough people clamor for a professional woman's softball league, some enterprising people will try to start a league. I just don't think the demand is there. Having said that, all it takes is someone with enough bucks/backing and stubborn enough vision to try to put such a league in place, and then play a season. Then, who knows? There might be more demand than I think there is, and said league could grow.

Actually no, it may seem unfair, but pro ball is strictly a business with the idea of making money, and womens pro baseball has been tried many years ago, and failed to make a profit enough to cover the cost of putting a team together.
Until someone can generate enough interest to gain a following, I'm afraid it's a lost cause.

There is a women's pro softball league - it's not as well-known as women's leagues in other sports, but it's there.

I agree it sucks! However, it comes down to the all mighty dollar. Unfortunately pro softball would not make much money.

Perhaps you should have done a quick 'yahoo' or 'google' search on this topic before you posted your question. www.womensprofastpitch.com has been around for at least the last 3-4 years.
