my kids want to see it but my freind told me it was raded (R) i am realy not sure if thats true so i am asking if its raded (R) because my kids are getting on my nerves

Of course not, its rated PG. In the future if you need the rating of a movie try this:
1) Go to http://movies.yahoo.com/
2) At the top right type the movie's name into the search field
3) Click the name of the film you want from the search results
4) Right after the movie's story summary you'll see some information, check out the "MPAA Rating" Item and you'll have your rating.

It is NOT rated R. It's an animated movie by DISNEY. I think it's PG. But it's definitely not rated R. The worst it could be is PG13. Have fun at the movies! I haven't seen it yet but it made the record for box office for animated movies.

No way!!! It's just like the other Shreks.....PG.
If it was rated R, I don't think that there would be so many Shrek 3 children's toys out right now.
