I have two neighbors who are black. I've never seen either of them ever invite a white person into their home. I've heard racial slurs come from both of their homes (usually during a party or loud discussions and they didn't know I could hear them). They are racist in my opinion and it's a pretty sad thing. I'm not racist at all. It comes from how you were raised and what you learned growing up. Either people will change it or they won't. Being racist is a choice. I'm white and I once had a bunch of black kids (all boys) try to beat me up because I walked down their street. How sick is that? It happened when I was a kid and I'm still shocked to see that it still goes on. I don't think racism is going to end anytime soon. It's a sad, useless thing.

Racism = Classism. So racists are actually just elitists of a sort, that are trying to maintain a class structure through verbal (and physical) violence. Even if racists go away, there will always be some way in which people try to maintain a hierarchy.

Unfortunately racism can exist in all races and cultures. Racists feel threatened by anyone who is from a different race or culture.
We are not born racist. Our views and beliefs develop as we grow up. If a child or young person grows up within a racist family, or has friends who are racist, they may believe that racism is normal and acceptable. I do not!!
Prejudice of any kind is often based on ignorance and fear of anything unfamiliar!!

these twits really drive me, what kills me is that i think their learning curve has actually flat-lined enough to let them actually believe this crap they spout. as i mentioned in a recent answer all they do is come across as whiny children who toss fits when they don't get what they want which bothers me because in as much as i don't doubt some are black i'll bet 5 times as many are as white as i am, ya know i've come a long way to be where i am and these goons seem to want what they have simply by demanding it and fire off whatever they do under the flag of an "unfair advantage" or some other excuse that they have in their arsenal. before this gets too long in the tooth i'll end saying this, where as i am not ashamed to be white i think they should be due to the fact that they have done nothing but confirm the worst stereotypes about my people

I thnk rascists are people who have continually been discriminated against by one group or another and instead of letting that happen again they decide to hate the other group and proclaim it.
I see a lot of this going on here in yahoo, it's kind of strange but I guess when you have a world of people that can access a communication device you should expect all kinds. Definately keeps it interesting...lol

One should show compassion for all people, not only the ones we think are good. Often our assumptions of good are mistaken.
It is easy to show compassion for your friends. It is much more difficult and worthy to show compassion to your enemies.

Semper, I like to dream about a world where there is no hatred, and no one is judged by another for any reason. We may have to wait awhile for that type of utopian world to be, but it's okay to dream.
That's why I love my dogs so much. They love everybody!
