Yeah I understand but the parents just want to get attention from it, I believe they use their child's name as a conversation starter.
I would feel bad for the child when she/or he has to go to their first job interview and has to introduce themselves as Jacklynnpopperaluhkunapapa I mean come on just name your kid like Maddie or something. That so bothers me

How are you to know what is a good name or what isn't everyone has their opinion,.Teach your child to be strong and stand up if made fun of over a name. Would you rather your child walk around without an identity with same name like every other person. What may work for some may not work for you.
i personally think you have a hippie name but so do I

You are so right! i honestly hate my name. Thats why i shortened it to Lynn. It seems that to unique of a name can get a child teased forever. But i totally agree with you.

some parents don't think before they give a child a name and the name they give their child might be cute to them. everyone is titled to their own opinion. it is not like a child can tell their mom what they want their name to be.

When I was little I hated my name, but I like it now...especially after going to counseling school and working with kids named Cleophis, Jauan/Juanna (twins), and no joke, King Soloman. I'm all for infinate wisdom, but come on!

I am all for names that are reasonable. Neveah? I mean really. In my subbing experiences I have run across SEVERAL Unique's too. Crazy.... I do appreciate however my name. Shea. Different but reasonable. Not like Princess or Precious, which I have seen both in the classroom.

Kids will find something to tease other kids about, end of story. If it's not a name, then it'll be glasses or braces or shabby clothes.

I agree, but there is nothing we can do about it. It's ultimately up to the parents to decide. Hopefully they do give it thorough thought. And just be happy, that you are wise enough to not give your child a follish name!
