It would depend on how you define "Event". Do you mean the Lend Lease program between the U.S. and England or do you mean the Japs invading China and Burma and taking over the Rubber plantations, thus depriving the U.S. of rubber for tires, gaskets and anything else that rubber is and can be used for.
Are you talking about the Japs bombing Pearl Harbor?
Are you talking about the pressure on Roosevelt to stop selling scrap metal to Japan?
Are you talking about the Jap invasion of Korea?
