Wondering if I can just disconnect the spak plug to avoid unwanted smoke? Also would this have any detrimental effect on my engine? I just need to pass emmisions.

Disconnecting a spark plug will not help you pass an emissions test. It will make it worse. Fuel will still get into the cylinder, and exit without going through the combustion process. Leaving a VERY HIGH hydrocarbon reading!

Is the smoke blue? Black? White?

Some smoke out the back of the exhaust can be normal. Especially on a cold morning.

Could you be experiencing excessive fuel? Are you sure it's oil that's burning?

If you believe you're burning oil excessively, you might try a thicker grade of oil. Otherwise the only way to eliminate the smoke is to fix how it's leaking into the combustion chamber.
(Rings if the oil is coming from the bottom, valve seals if from the top, or the head gasket if the leak is occurring there)

Don't unplug the spark plug wire. That cyl will still fill p with gas and leak down to your crank gas and do a number on your mains an rod bearings. There is a product called No Smoke or try Restore. They are temp fixes but should work depending on how bad th smoke is .

Not really, this will cause the cylinder to fill up fill up with excess fuel, then would be coming out of the exhaust valve so I really do not think that would be any better for emissions then the smoke, where is the oil coming from? I. E. Headgasket, rings, valve seals ect.

i own a shop, and doing that wont make it pass emissions, that will make it have a miss-fire in it,and cause it to be a lot worse,if its that bad it wont pass inspection at all, there's not a lot of answers i can give you on this one,it needs engine work done on it,good luck with it.
