I just read such a story recently in my newspaper. A rich couple kidnapped two women, made them clean their home, then beat them & kept them in the basement. They were tortured regularly & somehow, they got out of the house & were found eating out of a dumpster. They told their story to the police & the couple is in jail now.
n hater....what a shame you hate so badly!!!!

In this day and age, I would certainly hope not. Surely our culture has progressed further than that.
I do know that in California when the crops are ready to pick the Mexican people live in temporary housing and work.'Then move on to the next crop.
If the crops are not picked with-in a certain time frame, all is lost, so they use the cheap labor, and the Mexican immigrant workers are happy to have employment.
Which again brings us to the immigration issue.

Rich people now THINK they own slaves. They call them "live-in maids" and try to force f*cked-up, uncomfortable uniforms upon them.

yes, they are usually illegal immigrants with little or no language skills. The "owners" threaten to deport them, or tell them that its breaking the law if they run away. Yes, it does still happen.
and yes, it was recently on the news for some rich new jersey couple.
