Slavery is still in existence....That is a point.
There is genocide going on in Darfur... Another point.
The media generally focuses on something stupid and irrelevant... and other point...
The Neo nazi's are coming into power in Germany again... Another point
In America the KKK is still in existence... another point...
There is still racial discrimination in the job place... another point..
I really wish I got all of those points....
A 1990 study by The U.S. General Accounting Office, indicated that racial bias has influenced prosecutors' decisions to charge a defendant with a capital offense and/or to proceed to trial rather than plea bargain.
There is more white on white violence than black on black violence and yet the media hardly portrays this...
White people are more likely to drink.. and yet there aren't any idiots trying to figure out if race has anything to do with it as others try to find links of violence with being of the african race...
About 74% of persons on drugs are white....
Look a butterfly....

Primarily, you cannot ignore the social repercussion of the past.
The Civil Rights movement was waged in the during the 1950's and 1960's. That is extremely recent on the human civilization scale. It takes many an era for mentalities to transfrom. Apples do not fall that far from trees. It is going to take a while.
Black and white race relations are emphasied incessantly because of our link to the fundamentals and conception of America. Black culture is pop culture. It has been adopted, extracted, exported into the American mass. Black persecution may be, perhaps, more controversial because visually we're easiest to discriminate against. Black features (uninhibited) are almost the opposite of white features. The vast difference in our indigenous, native, or tribal origins are always on display juxtaposed in such a white world. It is a simple superficial reminder that we are different.

This is the viscious cycle that needs to stop. it's not going to get any better until we All just realize that what happened yrs ago is obviously going to affect us presently...that doesnt mean it should control our lives. if that's the case why even bother learning history at all if "it happened so long ago". African Americans are tired of being the focal point on the media being portrayed as criminals and uneducated as well as caucasians are tired of being the focal point of blaim. cant you see we all want the same thing just to be treated as individuals not as a whole. oh and present events? are you kidding?! that's another way the media stirs the pot of racial problems in the society. every culture has good, bad and ugly but the media has a standard on how they choose to portray it.
if we cant agree on something that happened "so long ago" how do you expect us to move on??-just food for thought :)
remember we're all made from God/or what have you and if you dont believe that then, your truly confused.

Ehem... for your information... there are also some issues having to do with discrimination of white people and other races... The thing is, discrimination depends on where you are. For example, if your in america you'll probably hear about discrimination of blacks and if your in africa you would most probably hear about discrimination of whites because no one in their right minds would discriminate their own. America has more whites so black discrimination is more prominent because blacks are a minority compared to whites and because most africa are composed of black people they would most probably discriminate whites. So that's the reason why it seems that black discrimination is the main focus of attention in america.
Next, white people are not to blame for the slavery and fro colonizing other lands. The people who are to blame are now dead so there's no point of arguing. You can not change what has already happened you can only change what is about to come. And that's what we have to do, we need to change our way of thinking. We must see others as individuals, not as a race. We have our own differences so let's stop this nonsense. Black pepople are not the only ones doing crime and not all black people are criminals. Some White people also commit crime, some muslim people also commit crime, some christians(sad but true)also commit crime, etc. My point is that everyone of us can do good or bad things we just have different reasons for doing those. Those convicted robbers may have robbed the bank because they have a sick family member or some other reasons. We really don't know until we're in their shoes.
And one last comment, you say why dont we focus on black people killing and selling other black people off for money? Isn't that some from of black racism? That is very wrong of you. We should focus not on who or what race is it that has done the crime but on why he/she has done the crime and what we can do to stop this kind of crime. We should think, what if i were in his/her shoes?what would i do? We should stop stereotyping and just see others as individuals because each of us are unique in one way or another. And before you convict someone of being a racist, please see to it that you yourself are not discriminating others because you would also have to accuse yourself of being one.

statistics is the answer....theres been alot of statistics saying that a lot of us african americans are violent and boderline retarded and only a minor of us break that stereotype. But regardless of that some white people say that since the majority of african americans are both those things...that must mean all of them are....which is kinda wrong and unfair for some of us....ppl say that the average iq of a white is 100 while for a black it is 85 and thats why some white think they are superior....well some ppl like me are tryin to break that stereotype cause my iq is about 128 and its sad that some african americans will do some stupid things like commitin crime or slackin off at skool and have it be represented on us as a whole....some ppl are just racist cause of certain physical traits that another race has

I believe it's getting better, but little by little. I was only born in 1985, but nowadays racism is more the kind where you speak politcally correct & don't mind hiring illegals to work for you but you want a fence up on the Mexico border. There's no denying white superamcy groups like the KKK still exist, but the cross burning, brick throwing, & white cape wearing image is in a different form now.

I agree. It seems some black people love to use the race card and the media loves it. News stories of a white guy starting a bar fight with a black guy is splattered everywhere but you never hear about all the thugs killing innocent people over drugs.
Al Sharpton is probably one of the most racist characters we have in this country.
And you are right they cant think they can hold white people today accountable for slavery that happened over a century ago. In one hand they have the race card and in the other it is open waiting for some more of taxpayer's money.
And I have to say that is only some of them not all but sadly i see it more often than not....

i agree with you that other races have had to endure racism such as japanese being forced into camps and lots of aggression to irish and hispanics too. Right now it is very controversial the fact that affirmative action is letting people of other races into schools above whites. I don't know, it is a very sore subject.

The crimes perpetrated against blacks in the past contribute to the conditions and crime rate in black communities today...
FYI-blacks are ten times more likely to be wrongly convicted of a crime.
There are whites who committed a lot of crimes as well but many times those crimes are not reported in the news...
