Do you have Intergraded Sound or PCI- Bus Sound card? Make sure you have Sound Drivers... If you have that make sure your Speakers are connected to the right port and make sure they are turned on If you have Drivers for the Sound card and its not Intergrated And it doesnt show up under Hardware then its time to get another sound card.

Plugs in right holes? Ac plugged in? Try a different player, that will determine if the payer is bad. If so uninstall and reinstall. Will the system play a sound file, but not a CD? Go into system, make sure that the sound card is in the pulldown box. Download a codec package lately? uninstall it. Download a song from AOell, reinstall your OS. Go into device mgr. Is there a bang on your device? Reinstall you audio drivers.
